Perth’s newest luxury hotel is officially open for business with the launch of the Ritz-Carlton’s 100th hotel on Barrack Street this morning.

The hotel offers 205 guest rooms including 19 suites, which feature views of Perth city and the Swan River.

It is home to Perth’s newest culinary sensation, Hearth, which The West Australian food editor Rob Broadfield predicts will be within reach of international acclaim.

After a smoking ceremony at 5.30am, stakeholders and guests met outside the front door of the hotel at 9am for a welcome to country and ribbon-cutting followed by a toast inside the lobby.

Ritz-Carlton Perth general manager Dario Orsini said the design that had been weaved into the material and fabric if the hotel was profoundly West Australian.

“This place is packed with homages to what Western Australia has to offer to the world,” he said.

“As soon as you walk into the Ritz-Carlton Perth, you know where you are.

“Everything that you will taste, see, feel and touch here is Western Australia.”
