 fastrack index The Old Mill (one of Perth's best known landmarks) located on the South East side of the Narrows bridge, the area is known as Mill point on the Swan river. Built in 1835 and operating until 1859, the mill produced 680 kg of flour per day at its peak. Since then the site has been a hotel, residence, wine saloon and poultry farm.
In 1992, it was granted to the City of South Perth to commemorate the centenary of the founding of Local Government in South Perth in 1892. The stone buildings and site were repaired and upgraded and were vested in the National Trust. The Old Mill is open to the public and has guided tours four days a week.
