Memorable Trails

Duration: 20 minutes - 1.25 hours
There are two walks to enjoy through the Western Australian Botanic Garden. The Short Walk is 20 minutes one way, or 40 minutes return. If you have more time, the Long Walk (1 hour and 20 minutes return) is a fantastic way to cover the entire area, including the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, Pioneer Women's Memorial fountain and Water Garden.

DNA Tower Climb
Duration: 40 minutes return | Open: 9am - 5pm daily | Entry: FREE
Walk among the treetops and enjoy spectacular views of the city skyline on the Lotterywest Federation Walkway. The journey extends 620 metres through the Western Australian Botanic Garden and includes a spectacular elevated 52 metre glass and steel arched bridge suspended among a canopy of tall eucalypts.
The DNA Tower derives its name from the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) double-helix molecule, which is found in all cells and control the development of life. It is the highest viewing point in Kings Park. The DNA Tower is located at the Forrest Drive end of the Broadwalk Vista. It is an easy 1.5 km walk from Synergy Parkland and the Western Australian Botanic Garden.

Law Walk
Distance: 2.5 km loop | Duration: 45 minutes
Law Walk is Kings Park's premier urban bushland trail which provides visitors with scenic views of the Swan River and a unique insight into biodiversity along the Mount Eliza escarpment. Suitable for people with moderate fitness as it includes steep sections. Wheelchair and pram access is available on parts of Law Walk.

Kokoda Track
The Kokoda Track Memorial Walk is a tribute to the bravery of Australian troops who fought in the Papua New Guinea campaign of July 1942 - January 1943. The Kokoda Walk begins at Kennedy Fountain on Mounts Bay Road with a climb of 150 steep steps (with a vertical rise of 62 metres). Follow the plaques along the steps to the State War Memorial where the track ends, just north of the cenotaph. Please note that this walk does not have wheelchair or pram access.

Boodja Gnarning Walk
Distance: 2.8 - 3.4km | Duration: 50 - 80 minutes
The Boodja Gnarning Walk explores the Nyoongar peoples connection to the land within Kings Park. Interpretive signage panels provide information and artworks from the Nyoongar people for visitors to follow while experiencing other Kings Park attractions. The initial one kilometre walk breaks into two separate paths known as the Maarm (male) Track and the Yorga (female) Track; both are open for visitors of either gender.

Botanic Garden Discovery Walk
Distance: 1.7km | Duration: approximately 1 hour
Visitors will take in stunning views of the Swan River and Perth's CBD as they pass the State War Memorial, Lord John Forrest statue, entrance to the Western Australian Botanic Garden and Lotterywest Federation Walkway. The walk concludes near Aspects of Kings Park, in the Fraser Avenue Precinct.
