Historical site
this location has significant history and concurrent values
one of the oldest paths in the park early settlers 1900's based in the Northern section of Kings Park (Shenton Park) would treck through the Park to Crawley Baths (1914 to 1964)
from the North West boundary is Magpie path, joins south to Wren Path, joins south to Crawley Path, joins south Crawley Steps, joins to Swan river
The Name CRAWLEY the maiden name of the 1st landowners wife
places called Crawley (history Crawley) - Crawley Steps (this path)
- Crawley Path (other side or Forrest Dr heading North)
- Crawley (the suburb at the base of Swan river and West) which is home to the Majestic Matilda Bay
- the Name Matilda is from Matilda Roe, the wife of John Septimus Roe (the 1st Surveyor general of West Australia), he determined the location of Perth and Fremantle his 1st survey map of Perth is in a Bronze Plaque in Roe Gardens (a stop of the hop on off bus)
- Crawley baths - the 2nd registered bathing venue in Perth from 1914 to 1964 history Crawley Baths
the location Crawley baths is recognised with of Eliza Sculpture which can be seen from the base of Crawley steps
