In 1929 the Peter Pan replica statue was presented to the children of Western Australia by the members and friends of the Rotary Club of Perth to celebrate the centenary of the state of Western Australia.

The statue is a replica of Sir George Frampton's famous Peter Pan statue which is located in London's Kensington Gardens in England and is one of only seven made from the original mould.

In 1929, Western Australia celebrated the centenary of the founding of Perth and the establishment of the Swan River Colony, the first permanent European settlement.

In June 1929 the Rotary Club of Perth presented the Perth City Council with a replica of the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens in London  as a gift to the children of Western Australia to mark the state's centenary. The reproduction was produced by the sculptor of the original statue, Sir George Frampton, and autographed by the creator of Peter Pan, Sir J. M. Barrie.

The park includes a bench that is a replica of the seat in the 1999 film Notting Hill, donated to the City of Perth by a resident known only as Rodd. It has the inscription:
