AboutBushwalking Lesmurdie Falls National Park is best viewed on foot, and with walks ranging from 300m to 3km can be experienced by all. From the trail head it is an easy short walk along The Falls Trail which follows Lesmurdie Brook to the Falls and back. Lookouts are provided where you can enjoy an extensive view over the foothills, across the Swan Coastal Plain to the city skyline and beyond to Rottnest. Distance: 640m return. Time: Allow 30 minutes. Class: 2 easy. The Shoulder Trail begins with a short walk towards the falls to the footbridge which crosses the Brook. From there it is a moderately easy ascent on a paved surface until you reach the Valley Loop Trail which you follow for the descent past a dolerite dyke of dark rocks and a grove of quandongs before passing the lower face of the Falls. Return the same way. Distance: 1.5km return. Time: Allow 1 hour. Class: 3 moderately easy. The Cascade Trail is a short and unevenly surfaced trail which leads down some steps to The Cascade, a small rapid on Lesmurdie Brook. Distance: 300m return. Time: Allow 15 minutes. Class: 3 moderately easy. To begin The Foot of the Falls Trail first take the Falls Trail to the lookout then continue down the Scarp to Lesmurdie Brook. From here walk along the Brook to the foot of the Falls. Return the same way or continue to follow the Brook to exit at Palm Terrace. Distance: 2km return. Time: Allow 1 hour. Class: 3 moderately easy. To experience the whole of Lesmurdie Falls National Park try The Valley Loop Trail, which incorporates all the other walking trails in the park. Follow the trail up the Brook and past the Cascade then cross to the north side. Take care when the water is flowing. Continue down the scarp to Palm Terrace where you will cross the brook again to return up the valley on the Foot of the Falls Trail. Distance: 3km return. Time: Allow 2 hours. Class: 3 moderately easy. Stunning views over the Swan Coastal Plain are available from lookout platforms which are a short walk from the picnic area on Falls Road. Slightly over cast day our Mission is to inspect / survey the track to determine the best media for Google mapping ie, photos or video typically we take photos (360) of Icons / landmarks and video the trails (faster less quality) we 1st went to the base car park but figured thats too hard for us today . lol - its uphill walk so we decided to relocate to the top car park - be warned thats a big loop so plan ahead from the top car park (toilets and awesome mobile drinks van) we checked our a few trails which are shared in the route map below 360 Photos are shared into fbk album (main page), google maps and used for virtual tour Route mapGPS live tracker route saved to several sites
